Learn how to be a confident and compassionate movement trainer

Learn how to be a confident and compassionate movement trainer over two movement rich weekends, lots of time outdoors with brilliant people.

Our course is right for you if you:

  • Want to move more, to check in with your body and learn new skills, or;

  • Want to learn new skills so that you can teach others.

We split the four days over two weekends, one month apart - there’s a lot of information and it’s nice to have a bit of time to let it percolate.

  • A mix of teaching methods, from classroom instruction, to peer coaching to role-playing real-life scenarios to group games.

  • Small groups - so we have time and space to go over topics in real detail.

  • No prerequisites - our small groups are very mixed in age and background - some take part just to learn more and others take the Certification. This leads to some incredible conversations!

"…one of the most useful courses I’ve taken. It was a very comprehensive course which provided loads of real-life applicable knowledge.”

Weekend 1 - Movements for life & heuristics

  • The philosophy behind Movements for Life and how to build practical fitness.

  • The latest evidence-based movement theories.

  • Learn about which movements we need to hold onto so we can keep participating in life as we age.

  • What these movements look and feel like to us and others, and what might the limitations be.

  • We explore theories of well-being and how we can bring more people outdoors to spend time together, building stronger, more resilient communities.

Weekend 2 - Coaching confidence & competence

  • Learn how to think critically about movement selection.

  • Session planning.

  • Learning how to troubleshoot.

  • An understanding of the considerations for diverse groups.

  • Finding a balance - building your support network and your coaching confidence.

“I absolutely loved being a part of the certification weekend. As a coach we don’t always get to share our experiences, ask questions or be able to objectively question ourselves. I came away having learned about myself, learned from others and felt the strong bond of community in the outdoors that Wild Strong has fostered so amazingly…Just wish I had a Wild Strong nearer me. Every county needs one! Thank you for having me!” Wendy, Reclaim Movement
